Digital Force Technologies' Satellite Imagery Enhanced GPS (SIMEG) Receiver is a rugged, handheld GPS receiver that displays satellite imagery as a geo-rectified moving-map.
The SIMEG currently supports all NGA imagery and map products down to 1-meter CIB imagery.
Imagery files are loaded directly onto standard PCMCIA or Compact Flash (CF) memory cards from a PC or laptop with no need for conversion.
The user can then select from the various imagery types and select which layer to view, even changing on-the-fly during navigation.
The SIMEG uses a 12-channel GPS receiver with an optional 16-channel weak-signal tracking receiver.
Designed to operate similar to commercial handheld GPS units, the SIMEG is made for simple field use with a minimum of training.
